To anyone who is passionate about pottery or just curious, we offer a guided tour inside and outside our furnace, that will last about 30-40 minutes. During the visit, we will explain and show, whenever possible, all stages of production of a handmade pottery. The visit will begin on the outside, we will show you how and where the soil is taken to be processed and how it is cooked before being sold.
We will unveil the secrets of an ancient art, the working techniques, from the most common to the most ancient and challenging.
After this visit, the firm belief that "some water, some soil, and that's it" will disappear forever, and you will understand that in a single terracotta artifact there is the story of a man.
We suggest you to wear casual or sporty clothes, we don't want you to get dirty with some dust!

YOUR CUSTOM-MADE HAT
Renato, milliner
The workshop includes a short presentation of the work of the milliner and hatmaker, in which the different spaces of the atelier are shown, and the different activities that are carried out there. Then we move on to the making phase, which is organized as follows: 1 hour of preparing the hat shape (possible materials: sisal, straw or felt) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; lunch break circa 2 hours, and then from 2 to 5 p.m. we will work to finish and decorate the hat made previously. This particular type of craftsmanship involves fixing the hat shape in a kind of oven. This procedure requires a break time between the first stage of work and the next one, during which the work will be refined and finished.

YOUR UNIQUE JEWEL
Negar, goldsmith
Gerd Rothmann is a master goldsmith and his contribution in making the theme of unique jewel internationally recognized has been huge. The unique jewel is the one made with your fingerprint, or with that of a person we love. In this hands-on workshop we will re-elaborate this concept and you’ll be able to make your own brass jewel, under my guidance. Once in my studio, you’ll be fingerprinted and we will decide together if you are going to create a pendant or a ring. Then we will proceed with some sketches and the design before the actual realization of the jewel in wax. The experience will end with the creation of the wax jewel, after which I will send it to a specialized lab in order to brass molding it with the lost wax casting. I will then pick it up and polish it before sending it to you within 10 days after our meeting.

YOUR WOODEN INLAYED FLOWER
Renato, inlayer
During this 4-hour workshop I will show you the various wooden inlay techniques: fretwork, "buio", "toppo", the perspective inlay and the boulle technique. In particular, the fretwork technique will be studied in depth with demonstrations of the various processing phases, up to the final polishing. Afterwards, we'll try an easy workshop, where you'll learn the use of the fretworked arch, and I'll show you how to create three small inlays with floral motifs which will also be sandblasted. Three wooden flowers made by your hands, that you'll bring home as a perfect souvenir of this experience and that can be used as a bookmark.
