BUTTER AND CHEESE HOME MADE (16/01/2018)
My name is Alessandro, and I am a herdsman and a shepherd.
My world is the Malga Splaz, which lays at the start of the Bolbeno valley, this valley is not particularly well known but is full of wildlife and is very interesting for any person who takes the time to look. Here I keep my animals: milking cows, sheep, cats, donkeys, goats. It is only a small mountain farm where we produce cheese, butter and ricotta by hand, using our grandparents recipes from times when there was less technology. The butter, even today, is made by hand beating the fresh cream and it is a wonderful experience for both adults and children to try.
If you come visit me you will be able to see this beautiful valley with your own eyes, observe how a Malga is run, learn more about the animals and experience the joy and peace that this life style brings. You will discover how important it is to eat fresh and locally produced products such as butter and cheese: where you know you are eating natural products, produced in the best circumstances and with healthy well looked after animals.

Conoscere Alessandro e passare con lui qualche ora è stata un'esperienza davvero unica. Grazie ai suoi racconti abbiamo imparato numerosi segreti della vita di montagna e del mestiere del casaro. Abbiamo preparato burro e formaggio, seguendo l'intero processo di lavorazione ed è stata un'esperienza che consiglio a tutti, grandi e bambini. Alessandro è una persona squisita, molto disponibile, una di quelle persone che ti auguri di incontrare nuovamente. Torneremo presto nella sua malga!
